The problem
The existing homepage of our company website suffered from an overload of information and mixed messaging, making it confusing for users to understand what our company offers.
Disorganized information
No clear messaging
Distractive animation resulting in high bounce rates
Animation caused slow load times
Design & iterations
After the project was kicked off, I focused on designing several design options and reviewed them with the stakeholders. The objective was to maintain page conciseness and focus. Following the review process, stakeholders provided feedback suggesting further consolidation of the Develocity section.
Solution
In order to get to the final homepage, this was done by closely collaborating with all stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and product teams to maintain the homepage's focus. After gathering feedback from various teams, the following solutions were implemented.
Information architecture overhaul
Prior to starting the redesign process, my primary focus was to evaluate our current information architecture. I wanted to create a simplified and focused user experience for the redesign. To achieve this, I laid out the appropriate content and sections to ensure clarity and coherence. Additionally, I worked closely with our content designer to refine the content and organized it in a more intuitive manner to streamline the user experience and facilitate easier navigation.
The solution was a streamlined the navigation to guide users seamlessly to important sections, reducing visual clutter to enhance readability, and incorporated engaging visuals that support our core message. Additionally, we optimized the page for faster loading times and improved mobile responsiveness to provide a seamless experience across all devices.
